Here’s a few words from Niki:

The progress I’ve seen kids make during cooking activities is simply amazing. Their enjoyment, language growth and learning opportunities each time seem endless and they are always excited to share their experiences with their parents! I believe children learn best through play, creation, and interactions with others in their natural environment. Sprinkled with Words was created so that we can go into a family's home, a school's campus or a community place and teach others how to encourage language and learning through the simple act of creating food together. SWW gives kids opportunity to play, learn and communicate with cooking as their vehicle. Food can be the stimulus for healthy eating, healthy interaction, learning and language growth. Research tells us that kids and adults that eat together often eat better. Kids involved in cooking, growing and buying healthy food are often more interested in food, enjoy social mealtimes and eat a larger variety of food. One of my goals is to help parents feel empowered to use facilitating language and learning techniques with their child during natural, convenient opportunities that arise each day- breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner.

My passion for cooking and kids has led me to this unique opportunity to provide an invaluable service to your children. I am emphatic about enhancing a child’s development through cooking, incorporating functional goals and collaborative team efforts. It is my dream and goal that Sprinkled with Words will provide cooking & therapy services to children within the Greater Austin Area for years to come. Together we can help kids learn to explore, describe, learn from and share their food!
